Medicare Classes, and Individual Counseling

If you want to reconsider your Medicare insurance choice, we have:

Information Classes on Medicare, and Individual Counseling

— from a Consumer Advocate viewpoint –

You have until March 31, 2019 to change your choice, if you want.

When you made a choice in the fall of 2018 for a Medicare policy — or had a choice made for you —  Did you feel rushed?  Overwhelmed?

The good news is that the federal government gives you a grace period, of Jan. 1 through March 31, 2019, to take another look, and make a different choice if you want.    A better choice might save you hundreds of dollars throughout the year.

The insurance companies didn’t tell you this, right?  You shouldn’t be surprised at that.

The Citizens Federation can help you do effective comparison shopping.  You can find out if you made a good choice last fall, or whether you would benefit by making a different choice, before March 31.

We can help you in two different ways:

 1.  Individual Counseling Sessions

A private, in-person session of about one hour, at our office in downtown Duluth, MN.  We will show you what the best options are for your particular circumstances.   The cost is $40.   You can bring your spouse, friend, or relative with you.    To make an appointment, contact us:

Minnesota Citizens Federation – Northeast
424 W. Superior Street #200, Duluth,  55802

Phone: (218) 727- 0207    FAX (218) 727-1551

2.  Medicare Class, to give you the tools to do your own comparison shopping

The Citizens Federation’s Medicare Class, which costs $25 per household, will give you:

* Straight talk from a highly experienced consumer advocate, in clear language, without bureaucratic jargon or insurance company hype.

* True objective and useful information, with NO hidden agenda.   We don’t sell any insurance policies, or get any kind of revenue from them.

* Tools to systematically compare insurance policies, to find the best value for YOU.

This is an interactive presentation.  Plus, you will get full handouts to take home.  We make time for and welcome your questions.

This class could save you hundreds of dollars each year.    You could learn how to pick a policy that costs $50 or more a month less than another one with the same coverage.

The Medicare Class, which lasts for one and a half hours, will be held on these dates and locations in the Duluth area:

Tues.,  Jan. 29    2:00 PM,  Portman Community Center, 4501 McCulloch St., Duluth

Thurs., Feb. 7    2:00 PM,  Grace Lutheran Church, 5454 Miller Trunk Hwy, Hermantown

Why pay for this?

Sure, you could go to a Medicare Information workshop for FREE, held by an insurance company.  But, you will be get a slanted view from them that doesn’t tell the whole story.  The insurance companies can easily give these for free, because they expect to make large profits from their sales.

Our Medicare Classes, and Counseling Sessions, are the ONLY ones available in the Duluth area from a true consumer advocate perspective.   Our  fee covers our costs, nothing more.  We can tell the truth about the insurance companies and the government, because we are not indebted to either of them.    To learn more about our consumer advocate track record, click here
